Who hasn’t experienced it: in a constructive strategy workshop, great plans for the future were forged and ambitious goals were set, all participants go home motivated. But in the daily work routine, there is little time to actually implement what has been discussed – strategy, vision and mission are increasingly forgotten (until the strategy workshop of the following year). To prevent this from happening to our clients, we at CEYOND rely on roadmapping and masterplanning in our workshops. The following results ensure a solid and, above all, sensibly planned implementation of the developed contents:
- A target tableau with key figures, responsibilities and financial as well as time-related key figures.
- A portfolio of measures with a description of the contents, procedures, requirements, dependencies and other parameters.
Structuring, prioritization and project planning are determined on the basis of impact, resource requirements and feasibility. - The roadmap or master plan results from a chronological arrangement of the projects from the portfolio of measures. A visual preparation can be done along a time axis or a radar.
CEYOND tips for successful roadmapping:
- Define goals
Determine the purpose of your roadmap and who should be involved. - Collect data
Gather inputs: collect problems that need to be solved from stakeholders and existing research. - Define issues
Group problems into themes. - Prioritize issues
Establish criteria and create a scoring framework to rank issues. - Visualize and communicate
Draw the issues into a timeline and distribute the resulting visualization – the roadmap. - Review and update
Return to your roadmap regularly and make adjustments as needed.
